Teaching Philosophy


As a teacher, I have found a truth to myself: The purpose of education is to spark curiosity in the world. To explore the wonderment of what a material can unfold and figure out challenges one may run into in life. I wish to promote a sponsorship for the ‘aha!’ moment and have a classroom full of tinkerers, explorers, and students asking questions. I want to see light bulbs flash when they talk to a friend about a challenge or bias they face. Through my guidance, students will set challenges for themselves, solve and tinker through problems, and I will ask them to persevere and not give up at first, second, or third chance. It may take years to build this community, and even longer to make a difference across the school community I will fall into, but it is worth every student I will teach. 

Through a classroom community based in curiosity, self- empowerment, wonderment, and perseverance, I will make the next generation of movers and shakers lateral and divergent thinkers in the world.

2012- 2015         DR. BOB'S PLACE, Artist (Baltimore, MD)
Working towards completing a commissioned series of name plaques for the individual rooms of Dr. Bob's Place to provide individuality to the rooms children stayed in. Will be completing about a series of 20.

2012                   BOROUGH OF CHESTER, Artist (Chester, NJ)
Working on completing a series of 25 2x3' oil paintings of historical landmarks and places in Chester, NJ to commemorate the progress and growth that Chester has developed since its founding. The paintings will be on permanent display in the Chester Borough Municipal building.

2012                    DR. BOB'S PLACE, Muralist (Baltimore, MD)
Prepared and proposed mural project to Dr. Bob's Hospice. Sketched, lead painting team, and painted mural in main foyer area over the course of five months. Completed mural spanned 22.8 x 5.3 feet and nicluded an array of child-friendly cartoon animals hand drawn and composed together.

Bayonne High is a Blue Ribbon-winning public school based in Bayonne, NJ that include Academies with 5 tracks: a Scholar's, Arts, STEM, Humanities, and Medical track. Teachers are expected to build up and become involved within their community to enrich not only their students', but beyond the school. As a teacher, they help facilitate and teach; interact with students, parents, and other faculty, devise unit plans with personalized presentations and worksheets, assess and grade students in order to provide situations that help students explore their innovative, creative outlets through self reflection, research, and pushing their art boundaries. This school includes Title 1 students, Special Needs students (both High and Low functioning), ESL, and the Academy students to apply to Art Collages with real- world situations, guidance, and inspiration.

Towson High School

Towson High is a Law and Public Policy magnet school based across from Towson University. Student teachers implemented two long-tern units for Foundation and Studio Art 1 classes. As a student teacher, they help facilitate and teach; interact with student, parents, and other teachers, devise lesson and unit plans, assess and grade students in order to provide situations that help students explore their innovative, creative outlets through self- reflection, research, and pushing their art boundaries.

Stoneleigh Elementary

Stoneleigh is an elementary public school emphasized in STEAM and Green School practices. Student teachers implemented six units to grade K- 5. As a students teacher, they help facilitate and teach; interact with students, parents, and other teachers, devise lesson and unit plans, assess and grade students in order to provide situations that help students explore their innovative, creative outlets through STEAM practices.

GreenMount School
Interdisciplinary Teaching Intern
2014 (September- December)

GreenMount is a private, progressive, Co-Op school program emphasized in play and community- based practices. In keeping with their Theme Studies, interdisciplinary teaching interns implemented two mini units (Homes in Relation to their Environment & Role Models) to a kingergarten class of 11 students. As an interdisciplinary teaching intern, they help facilitate and teach; interact with students, parents, and other teachers, and devise lesson and unit plans and situations that help students explore their innovative, creative outlets through Arts Integration. 

Digital Harbor Foundation
Teaching Intern
2014 (January- May)

Digital Harbor is an after school program emphasized in electronic media which is taught on Fridays from 3- 6:30. As a teaching intern, they help facilitate and teach; interacted with students, parents, and other teachers, and devised lesson plans and situations that helped students from elementary to high school level students explore their innovative, creative outlets.

Peter's Valley School of Craft
Special Topics Studio Assistant
2013 (May- August)

Peters Valley Summer Studio Assistants are an integral part of the summer workshop program. They assist studio managers, visiting instructors and students during workshops and are responsible for studio maintenance.
